Disclaimer: If you are not aware, this blog is the personal blog (Erin Apelu) I set up 3 years ago to post pictures I took of my boys and their friends playing football. As the years passed I began including all the varsity (as many as possible with my non-professional camera) and continued to post them on this blog. While I am aware that many of you might not see your picture on this blog (if you were playing that night), rest assured we (Aryana and myself) do try and get as much of the team as we are able to. The pictures near the end of each post are usually of my family, my kids and some of their friends. I include them on these posts because it is easier for everyone to copy whatever pictures they want without me having to send them all individually. Thanks--Erin Apelu!

Tville- Warriors vs Hunter Wolverines Varsity Game

Make sure and click on "Read More" at the bottom of this post to see all the pictures.

Friday nights game against Hunter almost left me speechless.  For those of you unaware, the Wolverines are use to carrying the title of Region 2 champs--until last year that is. What came as a shock to everyone (except Taylorsville), the Warriors stole the title of Region 2 Champs in the fall of 2013.

With that being said, the Wolverines were out for blood on Friday (October 10th) in hopes of reclaiming what they thought was theirs.  But the Warriors were not about to lay down and give it back to the Wolverines. They came prepared to show everyone that the Taylorsville Warriors are the Real Deal.

After a week of speculation and other's online taunting about how Hunter was the Real Ville and notTaylorsville (which doesn't make sense since--aren't they the Valle?), the Warriors put those rumors to rest as they brought home a victory of 29 to 26 over the Wolverines.

I would be lying if I said it was an easy defeat. It wasn't. Hunter came to win and in doing so brought the Warriors their hardest game of the season thus far. For that we are grateful. Every bad call from the refs and unsportsmanlike conduct from the players (even the grass that we're not use to playing on) made the Tville Warriors that much better than we were before Friday.

Unfortunately, the passion between both teams came to a head when tempers flew and mild miscommunication took to the field after the game, resulting in everyone quickly exiting the field and returning to their buses. A dramatic and disappointing ending to an exciting game.

Nevertheless, the Warriors look ahead to Tuesday where the sophomores play at home against Cottonwood's sophomores and our JV play at Bingham against their JV. Wednesday will be full of excitement as the PINK OUT game will be our last official home game on the Warrior field as we take on the Cottonwood Colts. A perfect start to a much needed Fall Break.

Enjoy!

The Watergirls are warming up for the game too!
